This $6M Rancho Santa Fe mansion comes with a hidden speakeasy
The home — and its curious speakeasy — were designed by Solana Beach-based McCulley Design Lab. The company does interior design for luxury homes but also retail and public projects, such as a remodel of facilities at Moonlight Beach State Park in Encinitas. They were hired in 2017 and the job took about two years.
McCulley Design Lab put support beams across the ceiling to free up space, instead of having segmented areas. A 175-square-foot wine cellar was added and is probably one of the more eye-popping areas of the space. Vintage doors designed by San Diego architect James Hubbell open the cellar, which features Screaming Eagle and Hundred Acre wines.
